PURPOSE: To hold a long life, a low weight, a high strength and a self-lubrication characteristic by providing such an assembly that nonmetallic fiber reinforcing members are impregnated with a binder, and by compression-molding resin- impregnated fibers from which a collar, a head, a shank, balls and race members in a bearing are formed. CONSTITUTION: A housing 2 of a rod end bearing 1 is made of nonmetallic fibers impregnated with a resin, and is initially located on a flat sheet. If the bearing is exposed to an atmosphere at a medium temperature or an extremely low temperature, the fibers are impregnated suitably with an epoxy resin, but if it is exposed to an atmosphere at a high temperature, the fibers are impregnated suitably with polyimide. Then, a mold for the bearing 1 is formed therein, a reinforce members impregnated with a resin are located therein, and the fibers are arranged in the mold so that they are specifically oriented. The fiber reinforcing members is subjected to a compression molding step so as to form the housing 2. Accordingly, the bearing is used suitably in the atmosphere at a high temperature, a middle temperature or a low temperature.
