VERMIN-REPELLENT COATING MATERIAL FOR PACKAGED CIRCUIT BOARD, AND PACKAGED CIRCUIT BOARD

PURPOSE:To impart an excellent vermin-repellent effect without deteriorating moistureproofness, insulating properties, etc., of a coating film by incorporating a specified amount of a vermin repellent into a moistureproof insulating coating material for a packaged circuit board. CONSTITUTION:An acrylic resin, a silicone resin, a urethane resin, etc., are dissolved in a solvent to produce a solvent-base coating material. 5 to 60wt.% vermin repellent is incorporated into this coating material to give a vermin- repellent coating material for a packaged circuit board. Examples of the vermin repellent include benzyl thiocyanate, 3-chloro-2,3-diiodoallyl alcohol, and p-3,3- dimethylbutylphenol. By applying the obtained coating material to a packaged circuit board and drying it, vermin, such as a cockroach, can be prevented from entering therein so that a damage to the function due to vermin can be prevented.
