PURPOSE:To prevent a vehicle such as an automobile from exceeding limiting speed by displaying a limiting speed value on the surface of a road, and allowing the reader of the vehicle to read it, and issuing warning to a driver after allowing it to discriminate the necessity of the warning. CONSTITUTION:A line-shaped optical or magnetic displaying means 2 which changes in the moving direction of the vehicle 3 but does not change in the lateral direction of the road 1. Then, the reader 4a reads the limiting speed even if the vehicle 3 travels on any place in the lateral direction of the road 1, and a limiting mechanism 4c compares and collates a reading value and the detected value of a speedometer 5 in a car, and discriminates the presence of the excess of the limiting speed and the necessity of the warning, and if the warning is necessary, it instructs a warning device 4b to issue the warning. Thus, the vehicle 3 can be driven at the speed below the limiting speed.
