AUTOMATIC QUALIFYING AND CORRECTING DEVICE FOR ERROR IN JAPANESE LANGUAGE TEXT

PURPOSE:To detect and correct an error in a homonym in a noun continuous compound word by attaching a meaning category on each word, and providing a table to decide the feasibility of connection with a word just before or immediately after by using the meaning category. CONSTITUTION:The word division of an inputted noun continuous compound word is performed by using a word dictionary 7 and a grammar dictionary 8, and the meaning category such as (thinking) or (art) is attached. Next, the homonym in the compound word is extracted, and the word connectable to an adjacent word is detected out of the homonyms from decision tables 9 and 10 setting the reading of the homonym and the meaning category of the adjacent word of the homonym as parameters. And when a connectable word exists, the word is outputted, and when no connectable word exists, all the homonyms are outputted.
