PURPOSE:The titled cosmetic that contains the product resulting from action of a microorganism of Staphylococcus capitis on fat and oil by its cultivation, thus having effective hair-tonifying and hair-growing action and preventing dandruff and itching. CONSTITUTION:Staphylococcus capitis are made to act on an animal or vegetable fat and oil such a olive, castor, cotton seed oils, tallow, mink or whale oil and the resultant product is used for the titled cosmetic. The microorganism is made to act on the fat and oil by culturing it in a medium containing the fat and oil or by bring the fat and oil into contact with the culture medium after the microorganism is cultured or both methods are combined. The product is rich in fatty acids, which has a strong activity of inhibiting 5-reductase, thus showing excellent hair-tonifying action.
