PRODUCTION OF FERTILIZER OF OIL CAKE

PURPOSE:To obtain a high-quality fertilizer of oil cake rich in inorganic nutrients free from an offensive smell by blending oil cake with porous calcium silicate hydrate, adjusting to a proper water content and fermenting. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. oil cake having 10-20% water content is blended with 5-100 pts.wt. porous calcium silicate having =50% voids and 0.1mum-50mum particle diameter, water and optionally a fermenting fungus (e.g., Aspergillus oryzae) at room temperature for 5 minutes-5 hours to give a mixture having 40-60wt.% water content. Then the mixture is fermented.
