PRODUCTION OF HUMAN BLOOD COAGULATION FACTOR XIII

PURPOSE:To obtain the highly purified subject factor having high purity in high recovery with simple operation by treating a human blood coagulation factor XIII by hydrophobic chromatography and recovering the adsorbed fraction. CONSTITUTION:The objective substance can be separated from an aqueous solution containing human blood coagulation factor XIII and foreign materials by treating the raw material by hydrophobic chromatography and recovering the adsorbed fraction. The raw material is preferably subjected successively to ammonium sulfate fractionation, desalting, anion exchange chromatography and concentration before the hydrophobic chromatography treatment. The product is preferably subjected to post-treatment comprising concentration, ultrafiltration and gelfiltration. The above hydrophobic chromatography treatment is carried out preferably at 10 deg.C to room temperature.
