PRODUCTION OF H-BEAM HAVING LESS RESIDUAL STRESS

PURPOSE:To obtain H-beam having less residual stresses by expressing the residual stresses of the H-beam as a function of the finish rolling temps. and sectional sizes of flanges and webs and controlling the finish rolling temps. of the flanges and webs to calculated values in accordance with said function. CONSTITUTION:The residual stresses of H-beam are expressed by the equations (a0-a5, b0-b5, v1, v2, m1, m2; constants) wherein said stresses are made the function of the finish rolling temps. Tf, Tw of flanges and webs, the thickness tf, tw (mm.) of flanges and webs, and the sectional areas sf, sw (mm.2) of flanges and webs. The finish rolling temps. for the target residual stresses are determined by said equations, and the temps. of the flanges and webs are so regulated that said temps. are attained. Thus the H-beam having less residual stresses is obtained.
