PURPOSE:To lower the sensitivity of a stainless cast steel to cracking by a thermal shock and to improve the corrosion resistance and mechanical properties by specifying the amounts of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Ni, Mo, P, S, N, W, V, etc., and the amount of austenite in the matrix. CONSTITUTION:This stainless cast steel is composed of, by weight, =0.05% C, =2% Si, =1.5% Mn, 20-33% Cr, 3-10% Ni, 0.5-6% Mo, =0.04% P, =0.005% S, 0.12-0.3% N, 0.03-2% W and/or V, 0.001-0.02% B and/or 0.105-0.1% rare earth element and the balance Fe and the amount of austenite in the matrix is regulated to 45-75%.
