INITIAL PROGRAM LOAD RESTART IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To decide the phase of restarting an initial program by retrieving a specific address of a memory storing initial program at a central processing unit and identifying the presence of the said address when the load of the initial program is executed at the restart processing in an electronic exchange system. CONSTITUTION:In the case of initial program load(IPL), a CPU 1 reads information of a magnetic tape(MT) 5. When the information is read up to a bootstrap program(BSP), the read information is transferred to an address such as address 40 of a main storage device (MM) 3. The execution is started when the BSP is read. The CPU 1 reads an exchange processing program of the MT 5 and transfers the program to a file program 6. Then the restart processing is started. An IPL restart identifier 4 is operated in the restart phase deciding processing to discriminate whether or not the BSP exists in the address 40. When the BSP exists, the restart phase is decided to restart the IPL and to apply the initial setting of the address 40 of the MM 3. When the BSP does not exist, the restart phase undecision is set as the result of processing.
