摘要

PURPOSE:To enable rapid, and simple determination of catecholamine metabolites by culturing a specific cellular strain in a culture medium with or without mouse ascites or serum added thereto. CONSTITUTION:A BALB/C mouse is immunized with a catecholamine metabolite,, such as vanillylmandelic acid(VMA) or homovanillic acid(HVA), having 3-methoxy and 4-hydroxyl groups as an immunogen to provide an immunized splenic cell (A). The resultant cell (A) and a mouse myelomatous cell strain (B) are subjected to cell fusion to afford a specific hybridoma cell strain (C) capable of producing a monoclonal antibody. The obtained strain (c) is then cultured in mouse ascites, etc., to provide a culture, which is subsequently purified by affinity chromatography, etc., to produce the monoclonal antibody capable of specifically reacting with the catecholamine metabolite having 3- methoxy and 4-hydroxyl groups, especially with the VMA and HVA without reacting with catecholamine derivatives and metabolites having 3,4-dinydroxyl groups at all.
