PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a double fault, etc., by securing such a constitution where the component element of a diagnosing subject decided as abnormal is not immediately separated from a system and the component element or another component element decided in relation to the former component element is totally or partly separated from the system. CONSTITUTION:In a duplex system, a deciding means 5 decides whether the corresponding component element should be separated from the system or not based on the result of diagnosis obtained by carrying out a diagnosing program used for the component elements of a diagnosing subject which are successively carried out with start of the diagnosing programs 10 and 11. Then the ON switch control is performed for the separation display flags 30 and 31 included in the duplex system. Thus it is possible to avoid such a case where the component elements containing the faults are uniformly separated from the system. Then the system reliability is improved.
