PURPOSE:To obtain the title high-performance, high-quality thin film free from SrCO3 and CaCO3 by rapid heating, in a O3-contg. O2 gas steam, of a coating film prepared by coating a viscous solution made by dissolving in an organic solvent respective inorganic salts, metals or organic compounds of Bi, Sr, Ca and Cu. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of compound selected from respective inorganic salts (e.g., nitrates, chlorides), metals and organometallic compounds (e.g., alkoxides) is incorporated in an organic solvent so as to result in a specified stoichiometric composition followed by, if needed, reaction to effect homogeneous dissolution to prepare a viscous solution. This solution is then coated on a substrate to form a coating film. Thence this film is rapidly heated in a O3-contg. O2 gas stream, thus forming the objective Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+delta-based oxide superconductor thin film. By the above treatment, SrCO3 and CaCO3 do not formed, resulting in predominately containing the above-mentioned superconducting phase, thereby the objective high-performance, high-quality high-temperature oxide superconducting thin film can easily be produced at low cost.
