PURPOSE:To enable easy recovery of a molybdic acid salt, by adding a lower alcohol or acetone to an aqueous solution containing a molybdic acid salt and separating the precipitated molybdic acid salt. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution containing a molybdic acid salt [e.g. an aqueous solution of (NH4)2MoO4, aqueous solution of Na2MoO4, etc.] is added with a lower alcohol or acetone and the precipitated molybdic acid salt is separated by a solid-liquid separation process such as filtration or centrifugal separation and dried to recover the molybdic acid salt. The present process enables the easy and quick recovery of a molybdic acid salt in contrast with conventional crystallization process consuming enormous energy and time for the evaporation and concentration of the solution and with conventional acid precipitation process wherein the precipitation of molybdic acid is highly influenced by the amount of electrolyte such as NaCl existing in the solution and the amount of acid added to the solution.
