PURPOSE:To enable the electric adjustment of the clearance between a piston and a spring bar even if the surface of the spring bar is made of an electric insulator, by providing a clearance bar and electrically connecting the clearance bar to the piston to set the clearance between the piston and the spring bar. CONSTITUTION:The piston 1a of a control valve 1 is pushed by a spring bar 7. A prescribed clearance is defined between the piston 1a and the spring bar 7. To adjust the clearance, a clearance bar 30 is inserted through the end of a dust boot 12 and the contact between the clearance bar and the piston 1a is electrically detected through a buzzer 22. The valve 1 is secured in the postion of the contact, by a bolt 5. Since the surface of the spring bar 7 is painted, the electric detection cannot be effected by the spring bar. Because of the use of the clearance bar 30, the electric detection is enabled to accurately adjust the clearance.
