摘要

PURPOSE:To suppress the volatilization of gallium during an ashing process while certainly atomizing gallium in an atomizing process and to dispense with pretreatment operation such as extraction or concn., by adding a rhodium nitrate solution to a sample before ashing. CONSTITUTION:A sample is injected in a graphite tube 1 from a sample injection port 1b and a rhodium nitrate solution is subsequently added to said tube to store two kinds of the liquids in a sample receiving part. In this state, the graphite tube 1 is heated to 150 deg.C to remove moisture from the sample and the rhodium nitrate solution wile the dried mixture is heated to 500 deg.C to be ashed. Whereupon, the volatilization of gallium in the sample at low temp. is prevented as low as possible by rhodium nitrate. When the graphite tube 1 is heated to 1,600 deg.C suitable for a metal to be analyzed at the point of time when ashing is finished, gallium is effectively atomized while holding the concn. contained in the sample from the beginning to generate absorbancy.
