PURPOSE:To perform a drying combustion under a utilization of combustion energy of wet combustible material by a method wherein both a fluidized bed type drying furnace having a wet combustible material supplying pipe and a combustion gas pipe and a fluidized bed type furnace are communicated with each other by an upper space and a lower fluidized medium part. CONSTITUTION:Wooden material and wet combustible material are supplied from a feeding pipe 6 to a drying furnace 2, fluidizing air for the medium is fed from the air feeding pipe 7 to evaporate the moisture. The steam is dispersed from the fluidized bed and lifted into the space. The dried wooden fuel is passed through a lower communication part 5, fed to the furnace 3. Air is fed from the fluidized air feeding pipe 8 and a combustion air feeding pipe 9 so as to ignite the fuel. Ashes made under combustion and sand powder particle medium are dispersed from the surface of the fluidized bed layer, passed through an upper communication part 4 and then transmitted to the upper space. With this arrangement, a thermal energy generated by an ignition of the wet combustible material is utilized to dry the wet combustible material, thereafter the material can be ignited.
