NEW MATERIAL:Antibiotic substances 6108-A, 6108-B, 6108-C and 6108-D expressed by the formula [R is-CH:NNHCOCH3, -COOH,-CH(OH)-SCH2-CH (NH2)-COOH or -CH=CHCOCH3] or salts thereof. Furthermore, the substance 6108-A has the following physico-chemical properties. Color and properties; colorless powder. Molecular formula; C33R65O9N3. Elementary analysis (%); C, 61.84; H, 8.95: N' 5.86. Molecular weight; 637 (measured by mass spectrum). Melting point; 108-112 deg.C. Specific rotatory power; [alpha] =-39.0 deg. (C=1, methanol). Color reaction; forming black color in thin-layer chromatography with 20% aqueous sulfuric acid. Solubility; soluble in methanol, chloroform and ethyl acetate and insoluble in ether, hexane, etc. USE:An antimicrobial agent. PREPARATION:A strain, such as Micromonospora.sp. BA06108 strain (FERM P-9897) belonging to the genus Micromonospora is cultured.
