摘要

PURPOSE: To realize a large scale and economical separation through chromatography by employing glass fibers coated with agarose as a column filler for separating a biological sample or a chromatography member. CONSTITUTION: In order to remove endotoxin in the process of chromatography, a calibrator, e.g. polymyxin B, is immobilized onto agarose coated glass fibers. A substance mixed with endotoxin is then passed on the agarose coated glass fibers modified with a calibrator. Consequently, the endotoxin is adsorbed to the agarose coated glass fibers and removed from the substance. The agarose coated glass fibers can be dispersed easily and exhibits excellent fluidity. Furthermore, low filling density attainable by glass fibers realizes chromatographic processing with high extrusion quantity. Excellent mechanical characteristics of fiber also contribute to the fluid characteristics. This arrangement realizes a large scale economic chromatographic separation.
