The invention concerns the use of 2,6-ditercbutyl-4-methylphenol as a secondary external standard for determination of acetate content of vitamin A, taking account of their biological action, in the form of a concentrate and loose matter by a method of liquid chromatography on silica gel and the chemically bound octadecyl groups.
