The material is suitable for medical purposes, preferably stomatological purposes. This material makes it possible, for adequate loadability and biological compatibility, to form an external shape and colouring which substantially approximates the natural product. Surprisingly, it has been found that this is achieved by a material having the following composition SiO2 = 40 - 48 % by weight Al2O3 = 23 - 26 " MgO = 8 - 12 " Na2O = 3.0 - 5.5 " K2O = 0 - 6.0 " CaO = 0.01 - 0.2 " F- = 2.9 - 4.0 " Cl- = 0.01 - 0.5 " P2O5 = 2.0 - 6.0 " CoO = 0.0001 - 0.001 " The material is used as stomatological products, such as inlays, crowns, bridges, built-up elements, shells and unique medical specimens.
