The method is for sepg. hard and soft parts of food prods. The food parts are compressed in a ho llow chamber whose walls are provided with elongate slots. After this, the mainly soft parts are pressed through the slots nad the mainly hard parts are discharged through one opening in the chamber. The food prods. are supplied in the longitudinal direction of and are continuously supplied and compressed in the direction of loading. The hollow chamber may be cylindrical and the pressing member may be a plunger, piston or rotatable worm. The cylinder walls may be tapered along the axis of the chamber and may be massive having the slots produced by spark erosion or laser beam.
