The welding pistol is for a stud-welding machine, having a stud-holder with linear drive. The drive has an indexing motor. It can have a coupling bush with opposite axial holes. The motor shaft is fixed in the first one, and the holder is movable in the second. A mechanism converts rotary movement of the bush into linear movement of the holder.
