Set into the outer surface of the windvane or sail (1), a support tube (3) is surrounded by a tapering nipple (2). One end of a flexible strip or cord is glued into the tube leaving most of the cord to protrude. The cord will bee swung round by the air-flow so that its position is an indicator of wind direction and strength. If the wind is blowing onto the sail surface, rather than parallel to it, the tell-tale cord will be blown against (5) the surface. @(5pp Dwg.No.2/2).
