The present invention relates to a silicone composition containing: - a diorganopolysiloxane oil of viscosity below 300,000 mPa.s at 25 DEG C, - an inorganic filler, - an organic peroxide, and - at least one organic and/or inorganic compound of iodine, in solid or liquid form at room temperature, water-soluble and non-toxic. The elastomers obtained after the action of heat on these compositions are usable for water treatment, with continuous and controlled release of iodine for the treatment and eradication of diseases due to iodine deficiency.
