Side wall for a continuous casting device between movable walls of metallic products, in particular of thin products, device comprising two cooled movable walls which are opposite and driven simultaneously in the same direction (3, 4) and two of the said side walls (6) delimiting the casting space, characterised in that the side wall comprises in the vicinity of the movable walls (1, 2), two inserts (7, 8) of a material having good thermal conductibility, which adjoin the edge (11) of the movable walls, present a face (73, 83) directed towards the casting space, extend so as to be in the proximity of the neck (5) between the movable walls, and delimit between them a zone consisting of a covering of thermally insulating material (9), the surface (91) of which is plane or concave.
