The present invention relates to a projectile with a hollow-charge explosive charge 1. This type of charge produces an explosive jet which can penetrate even thick armour. It is well-known that the greatest penetration capacity is obtained if the hollow charge 1 is detonated at a given distance, or stand-off, from the target. Previously, hollow-charge projectiles have been provided with a tubular distance member 6 in order to give the desired stand-off. However, such a distance member cannot be made too long. In the invention, a method is indicated for producing such a projectile with a distance member 2 which gives optimum stand-off by virtue of the distance member being made so narrow over a considerable part of its length that, before impact against the target 4, it lies in the direction 3 of movement of the intended explosive jet of the charge 1.
