HX24 COMBINATION OF A SQUALENE SYNTHETASE INHIBITOR AND OTHER TYPE OF SERUM CHOLESTEROL REDUCING AGENT AND METHOD FOR LOWERING SERUM CHOLESTEROL USING SUCH COMBINATION A pharmaceutical combination is provided which includes an inhibitor of the enzyme squalene synthetase and a pharmaceutical which reduces serum cholesterol by a mechanism other than inhibiting production of the enzyme HMG CoA reductase or the enzyme squalene synthetase, namely, an antihyperlipoproteinemic agent or antihyperlipemic agent, for example, probucol or gemfibrozil. A method for reducing serum cholesterol or inhibiting formation of or treating atherosclerosis using the above combination is also provided.
