The additive, for increasing octane value of petrol, is added in amount of 0.5-1%, replacing wholly or partially the tetraethyl lead used as an anti-knock additive. It is made in two stages: (a) using 7 different containers in which various mixts. are made, which are merely emulsified and left to stand; and (b) mixing part of the mixts. from the 7 containers in a single one in specified proportions, homogenising and allowing to stand for 24 hours.
