The invention relates to a walking-mechanism arrangement with so-called external walking mechanisms which are displaced into the spaces between the adjacent support units. The walking mechanisms (S) each have guide rods (3) which are connected in a rod head (4) and are guided at their goaf-side ends with sliding pieces (6) on longitudinal guides (7) of the floor members (1, 2) of the support units. Linked to the sliding pieces (6) are advancing cylinders (8, 9), the piston rods (10) of which are connected to the floor members in an articulated manner. According to the invention, an aligning cylinder (16) is provided which is integrated in the walking mechanism and is coupled to the walking-mechanism parts moving forward in the shifting direction during the shifting of the advancing abutment (face conveyor), preferably to the sliding shoes (6) or the cylinder parts of the advancing cylinders (8, 9).
