ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREThe disclosure herein describes a method andapparatus for the removal, by dialysis, of gases physi-cally dissolved in the blood of a person, more particularlya diver or an aviator; the blood is brought into con-tact, in an exchange cell, with a membrane permeable togases only; a liquid having high solubility for gasesis circulated on the side of the membrane so that thegases dissolved in the blood are made to follow theirchemical potential gradient across the membrane into theliquid.
