Process for making a steel-reinforced, permanently soft, lined, total or partial dental prosthesis. In a first, separate step, the permanently soft silicone rubber lining (6) is vulcanized onto a steel base (3, 5) at a temperature of approximately 200°C. In a second step, the plastic of the prosthesis (7) and the teeth (8) are mounted on the steel base (3, 5) at a temperature of approximately 100°C. This results in a physiologically harmless prosthesis with a permanently fixed lining free of cleavage products.
