Solvent compositions which can be used for producing coverings of bitumen and, optionally with polymer, said compositions being characterised in that they are composed : a) of from 1 to 99% by weight of at least one light hydrocarbon solvent having a mass density of between 700 kg/m**3 and 950 kg/m**3 ; b) of from 99 to 1% by weight of at least one heavy hydrocarbon solvent having a mass density of between 950 kg/m**3 and 1,050 kg/m**3.
