Photodegradant compositions and photdegradable polymer compositions made therefrom

A photodegradation composition for incorporation into polymer (such as polyethylene) contains a photodegradant complex of copper and a complex-forming compound (such as copper·2,4-pentadione) and a photostabilizer complex of zinc and a dithio acid (such as zinc·dimethyldithiocarbamate). Polymers containing the composition are synergistically photodegradable and synergistically process stable. The polymers are useful in agricultural and packaging applications (such as clear films for consumer packaging).
