PURPOSE:To automatically restart the working of a facsimile equipment after a fault is recovered by preparing an application program divided into plural phases and starting the execution at a phase analyzing routine at the rise of a system. CONSTITUTION:A main control part 20 is provided with an application program divided into plural phases for execution of a phase analyzing routine 100, the phase executing routines 200-240, and the phase updating routines 300-340. Then the part 20 executes repetitively the routine 300 to write the value of the phase to be executed next and a parameter into a nonvolatile memory 4 at the end of each phase and the routine 100 to decide the program to be executed next based on the phase value written in the memory 4. The part 20 starts the execution at the routine 300 at the system rise. As a result, the operation interrupted by a service interruption, etc., can be automatically restarted at the recovery of the fault.
