Textile fibers exhibiting improved characteristics for weaving on water jet looms are prepared by sizing such fibers with copolymers of an aliphatic &agr;-olefin such as ethylene and an ammoniated &agr;,&bgr; - ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid such as ammonium acrylate.
