Cover arrangement for guide elements of the portal of a processing machine designed as a portal machine

In a cover arrangement for the guiding elements - running rollers and guiding rollers - of the portal of a processing machine designed as a portal machine for wooden or plastic pallets, the running rollers are designed as self-aligning ball bearings and roll on running surfaces designed as steel bands. The tracks of the supporting rollers are covered by one flexible cover band each. The cover bands slide by means of guide elements across the supporting rollers at a clearance distance from the latter and are held in contact with the respective running surface by hold-downs arranged on both sides of the supporting rollers. The cover bands are fastened with their ends to longitudinal members of the machine frame. They are designed as glass-fibre fabric strips which are provided with a smooth plastic coating on their top sides remote from the running surfaces. The hold-downs are designed as pressure rollers. Guide plates and/or deflection rollers can be provided as guide elements.
