Ball and socket joint for curved steering tie and track rods in motor vehicles

The ball and socket joint is intended for the support of bent steering tie and track rods in motor vehicles and consists of a ball spigot (5) with a joint ball (6), a housing (7) accommodating the latter, and a sealing element (9) composed of an elastically deformable material which surrounds the ball spigot (5) and is mounted at one end on the housing (7). The sealing element (9) has an accumulation (11) of material which limits the deflection of the ball spigot (5) relative to the housing (7) in the direction of action of the tilting moment caused by the curvature of the steering tie or track rod.
