The invention relates to a suction appliance with a collecting receptacle for sucked-in dirt. The wall (4) of the receptacle is assigned a sucking-in opening (5) which leads into the receptacle interior (10) and can be connected, on the other side, to a suction hose. Such a weight in the receptacle interior (10) is a distributing piece (14) with a connecting device (19) for a collecting bag for dirt and with a deflecting device (20) for the sucked-in medium. The distributing piece (14) is constructed as an adjustable part and is movable between two distributing positions.
