The device for pressing, in an axial direction, a cutting tool (2') against the counter tool (2) of a longitudinal cutting and/or corrugating machine, especially for corrugated cardboard (3) has a tool body which is fixed in the desired position so as to be immovable in three dimensions and can be coupled to an adjustment rod, and a tool holder which is connected to an axially continuous drive shaft in a non-rotating but slidable fashion. Together with a sliding ring which is supported by the tool body, these interact with annular flanges on both sides.
