In a drawframe for a spinning machine with a plurality of bottom rollers and top rollers which limit at least one drafting zone and at least one compacting zone, and with a sliver guide arranged in the compacting zone and narrowing in an approximately funnel-shaped manner in the sliver running direction, provision is made for arranging the sliver guide directly adjacent to the bottom roller limiting the compacting zone on the entry side and for holding it counter to the sliver running direction by the holding means.
