With a temp. below a first critical temp., at least one bimetallic spring disc (6) with its convex curved centre (8), protrudes against the valve opening (5) and with edge support at an opposing surface (9) seals the valve opening (5). With a temp. above a second critical temp. at least one other bimetallic spring disc (7) with its convex curved centre (10) protrudes against the valve opening (5) and with edge support at an opposing surface (9) seals the valve opening (5). Within an opening temp. range greater than the first critical temp. but less than the second critical temp. both bimetallic spring discs (6,7) have their centres (8,10) curved away from the valve opening (5) to give a free passage for the medium flow. USE/ADVANTAGE - Valve unit for temp. dependent control of medium flow, esp. gas or liquid flow. Ensures reliable sealing of valve passage. Mass produced in simple manner. When fitted to appliance e.g. battery can be reused following overheating.
