摘要
A wheel-shaped body of revolution e.g. a flywheel, turbine or compressor wheel has been designed burstproof by shrinking the outer ring (31) forming the inertia mass (1), on a hub (22). This is done with a prestress in the outer ring such that it is always greater than the opposing stress caused by the centrifugal forces at its max. Speed. Two roller or ball bearings (12,13) rest with their outer races in the housing bores which have been lined with sleeves (14,15) of PTFE. The hub is made of zirconia or metal ceramics and the outer ring of high-tensile steel alloy. USE/ADVANTAGE - These sleeves prevent serious damage in case the bearings overheat (lack of lubricant, damaged rolling elements). For use as a gyroaccummulator for recovering the brake energy of heavy trucks.
