The image plane (8) of the screen (9) is viewed through two biprisms (2,3) fitted into a spectacle frame (5) at a spacing corresp. to the interocular distance. The constituents (21,22;31,32) of each biprism taper in opposite directions so that the outer faces (7) are parallel. The dispersions differ so that unequal parallaxes are produced for red rays (11') and blue rays (11"), and the red portions of the picture appear nearer than the blue portions to the eyes (4). ADVANTAGE - Despite colour dependence of depth perception, normal viewing process is unaffected and direction of viewing unaltered.
