Spectacles for stereoscopic viewing of two adjacent pictures - displayed on juxtaposed screens giving monocular view through prisms tapering away from wearers centre of vision
Spectacles for stereoscopic viewing of two adjacent pictures - displayed on juxtaposed screens giving monocular view through prisms tapering away from wearers centre of vision
The two sidepieces (2,3) of the spectacle frame are joined by a bridge (4) along which the two prisms (5,6) can slide without pivoting in square-section guides (7). Each prism (e.g. 5) tapers outwards from a plane base surface which has an absorbent anti-reflection coating (5a). Opaque flaps (10,11) are hinged (8,9) to the narrow outer ends of the prisms (5,6) so that only light from the right-hand display screen can enter the left eye of the wearer, and vice versa. ADVANTAGE - Ghost images are prevented with each eye shielded against any direct view of corresp. screen.
