The priority valve gives preference to automotiVe servo steering gear, having an inlet from the main supply, and primary and secondary outlets respectively to the steering gear and other consumer units or the tank. Its plunger is actuated by the presure at the primary outlet, and in the normal position it divides the flow between the primary outlet and the secondary one, the latter receiving only the surplus.
