The instrument is designed for endoscopic removal of gallstones and similar operations. The instrument consists of a dilatator with a probe which has a ball fitted to its end. The dilatator consists of several tubes of increasing dias. which enable the tubes to fit one over another in telescopic fashion. The endoscope shaft (1) has a double walled annular chamber with a connector (2) through which it can be connected to a source of vacuum. at the patient end of the last tube of the dilatator a corkscrew-like spiral is fitted.
