Grinding disc setting device - monitors rotation parameters of setting tool to evaluate grinding disc wear

The grinding disc setting device uses a setting tool which is driven in opposition or in the same direction as the grinding disc at a different peripheral velocity to the latter. The setting tool is displaced from the start position to bring it into contact with the grinding disc by a number of small indexing steps, during reciprocation of the grinding disc in an axial direction. The periodic duration for the rotation of the setting tool is simultaneously monitored, to detect the level of contact between the setting tool and the grinding disc. This evaluates the grinding disc contour. ADVANTAGE - Allows detection of conical wear of grinding disc.
