The invention concerns a method of filling a tooth with an opaque filling, when the tooth has a flat surface and is at the front of the mouth. The filling substance may be a thermoplastic, a chemoplastic, or plastic adhesive substance. The filling is supported by a ring (1) which is inserted in the crevice between the tooth and the gum and a layer of foil (4) is placed around the tooth whilst the filling substance is being pressed into place.
