In order to arrange a surface box (22) in an upper road surface above a fitting, the road covering with the road surface is dug up, including the substructure around the fitting as far the load-bearing layer of the road covering, and a cavity is formed into which a sealing composition is introduced, around a protective pipe (10) above the fitting. Onto said sealing composition there is introduced into the cavity a prefabricated block (19) which is prepared in a corresponding height, passes beyond the surface box (22) in the outwards direction, but remains within the dimensioned spacing of the cavity and contains the surface box in a through-passage (23). Some of the sealing composition is pushed into the lateral joint between the prefabricated block with the surface box and the cavity wall. This joint is subsequently cast from above. IMAGE
